Blood donation

There was a blood donation camp organized in our college on 6th march.I donated blood for the first time and you know what happened I almost fainted ( to be fair "felt dizzy" ) and had to bunk the college for the whole day and that was not the end of it , my mom was screaming ( maybe even crying ) for donating blood without telling her.My friend had to bring my bike back home since I came back in auto.

But I feel that 2 or to be frank 3 good things happened because of me donating blood ,
  1. Firstly, someone was helped with my blood ( I hope so ).
  2. I know now how much strain ( well in practice ) which I can endure.
  3. I am happy I missed CO (Computer Organization) class that day.

Our Choice - Our Destiny : Which one of these is more important in our lives ?

Sorry I was preoccupied with something else and got so busy that I couldn't devote time for blogging.

Now to be frank with you ppl I have something in my mind for sometime ( not very long ) which I would like to share with you.

Well to begin with let me tell you a little about myself ,I opted for PCMB ( Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology ) in my pre-university course (PUC), I then decided to leave bio field and join Engineering and opted for Computer Science branch in University ( Engineering ).At this time when I am writing this I am studying 4th sem ( out of the 8 semesters ).

The questions which are bothering me the most are

  • Why did I opt for PCMB in PUC in the first place when I had the choice between PCMC ( C - Computer Science )
    and PCMB ?
  • Why did I opt for Engineering ?
  • Why did I opt for CS in Engineering ?

When I try to find the answers to these questions the answers themselves pose to me as a riddle which keeps on getting more and more complex the more i think of them.

I really don't know why i chose this path ,maybe it is becoz of the influence of the ppl around me which made all the difference in my life.Well everyone in my school opted for PCMB and especially my brother influenced me the most to take up Bio.

It was my family which made me take up CS in Engg.I hadn't even decided what to do with my life then.I now feel that I should have taken up law or I should take up teaching profession.

I hadn't decided then so i couldn't take up law and it is too late now. But i still have a chance to become a teacher but my mom/family members think that you can't lead a *happy* life being a teacher since the PAY is less.

I ask myself what has happiness got to do with PAY - it is contendedness which pays you off finally.

You know i used to read of stories where in the heroes would go in search of their fortune / destiny / luck .I want to do that now , I want to go in search of my fortune / my future.

So I think it is my determination along with my choices which will help me in fighting against the destiny that is being kept in store for me.

So now I feel that, our choices are more important than our destiny to make any difference in our life.

Seminar - a great success

Hey guys, just checked in to tell you that the seminar I had today was a great success ( atleast upto my best knowledge ). It was a seminar on Shell Sort as I had told in my last post.

You know what , it is a great experience you feel when you stand there and teach something , anything for that matter and make sure that everyone ( atleast most of the front seaters ) understand what you want to convey to them and the best part is one of my friends ( part of the audience for the seminar ) suggested me to become a teacher , which is what I want to be if given total independance of choice in my life.

Being Nervous - is it just me or is everyone like me

You know I have to give a seminar on Shell Sort on coming Tuesday i.e. on 29th of this month and when I am practicing for the same I try to think what am I supposed to say when I first go up there, what should I do if I forget something, what to do if I make a fool of myself, what should I do if someone asks me a question and I can't answer it properly , what if I make a fool of myself by going up there , what should I do up there since I will be pretending to know everything when in practice I know very little and try answering doubts just like picking my lucky hand in poker but then I get the feeling that out of all the successful seminars held 99% of them go to success in a similar fashion.

I really don't know what is in store for me on Tuesday but am sure I want it to go properly because it is my first ever seminar and it means a lot to me.

Well hoping that this feeling of mine being documented here is not inappropriate for my blog and hoping that I am a normal person , I hope that you all feel the same way in similar position and in saying you I mean those 'normal' people who are not an anomaly in themselves and to this society.

And before I go ,one last request wish me luck for my seminar.

Small things in life make all the difference

The HoD of our department has forced upon us many rules and regulations like,
  1. you shouldn't miss a single class without informing him in advance.
  2. you shouldn't wander around in the college campus inbetween classes.
  3. you shouldn't miss a single internals.
  4. all your notes must be update , he can check them whenever he wants to.
  5. for all those who stay at college hostel ,he can check their computer any time he wants

and many more.......

Even after all this I still don't like to miss a single day of my college , not because I miss the rules which he has set for us but because I cherish the small moments of my life where I break those rules right under his nose and still go unnoticed.

Life is full of surprises

Today all my family members ( my mom, dad, brother and also my cousin ) and myself had gone to our native place. We had hired a Tata Sumo ( transportation vehicle ) for our transportation purpose and the hero or the main character in this post is the driver who had accompanied us in this trip ( technically the term 'trip' doesn't fit here ).Let me tell you some things about our driver ( i don't know his name , so i shall call him Mr. Turtle : you will know why, shortly ).Mr. Turtle is a good ,jovial guy and a guy with lot of ( maybe unwanted ) patience .The only drawback with him is that he never at any circumstances drives fast.

I usually don't accept any changes that would occur in my regular schedule i.e. in short I don't like to bunk classes or miss my tuition classes for any reason ( not specific ).So , I had agreed to join this trip on the condition that I should be able to attend my tuition classes which were at 5:15 PM.

We left our house at 7:00AM against the scheduled 6:00AM (Since i woke up late). We reached the place at around 10:30AM and finally left at 2:00PM. Initially I didn't realize that with Mr. Turtle sitting in front of the steering wheel I would be late for my tution classes. As time passed I became conscious of it , I tried to hint him to go fast by telling everyone how important the class was for me and about negative effects of me missing the class. But that dumb ass kept on driving at 40/50kph which irritated me the most. I wanted to push him out of the driver's seat ,place myself there and drive at 60/70kph and reach my classes on time.

But fate has its ways and he did make me go to the classes 15 minutes late and when I finally did reach my tuition place I came to know that classes were postponed by around 20 minutes. At that time I just laughed at my attitude and ways in which our life gets filled with surprises.
